R emember the M.A.R.S, Project: Driver album of the 1980s that made charts and eventually faded into record collections? The album was released on 'Shrapnel Records' and launched the career of Rob Rock. That album featured performances by debut vocalist Rob Rock, guitar virtuoso Tony MacAlpine, and the brilliant rhythm section of Ozzy Osbourne's Blizzard of Oz band; completed by Rudy Sarzo on bass and Tommy Aldridge on drums. By this time Rock had performed with several other groups, including: Impellitteri, Axel Rudi Pell, and Joshua. Rock's first solo album Rage of Creation, was released in 2000 to rave reviews and a strong reaction from the industry. The album included a classic Metal version of the Abba song Eagle, and a rare guest appearance by Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne/Badlands) on two songs. Rock and his band followed it up with a tour of Europe with Axel Rudi Pell in 2001, and numerous festivals and gigs in the USA to promote the new 'JVC/Victor Entertainment/Massacre Records' release throughout 2002. Furthermore, Rob Rock was voted "Best Metal Act" by both the People's Music Awards and the Orlando Metal Awards in 2001 in their home State of Florida. In 2002, Rob Rock was voted "Best Metal vocalist" by the Orlando Music Awards. Read All... ⏬ In 2003, Rock released his second solo album Eyes of Eternity, followed by many appearances worldwide, including the 2003 Bang Your Head Festival in Germany and a tour of Japan in January 2004. This album again featured Roy Z (Judas Priest, Halford, Bruce Dickinson) as co-songwriter and producer and received an avalanche of positive reviews and accolades. By October 2004 Rock moved on to join the 'AFM Records' label roster with the release of his third solo effort, Holy Hell. This time, Rob Rock put together a new touring band from Sweden for the Aces High European Tour that featured: Masterplan, Circle 2 Circle, and Pure Inc. Rob's fourth solo album Garden of Chaos was released in September 2007; another album of blistering progressive metal still featuring the production credits of Roy Z, this time on 'Manic/Candlelight'. In May 2008 it was announced that Rock reunited once more with Impellitteri. Their new album, Wicked Maiden, was released in April 2009. Rock also lent his voice to the Randy Rhoads tribute released in 2000. In 2013, Rob Rock also made part of former Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolkki new project called Avalon, a metal opera featuring Rock as one of the main characters as well as being singer for 6 songs on the album The Land of New Hope.
