AlmahBiographyAlmah (2006-present): a Progressive Metal band from Sao Paulo, Brazil. T he first self-titled Almah album was released in the second half of 2006. Besides singing, Edu Falaschi also produced the record, composed all the songs and wrote all the lyrics. In addition, he recorded acoustic guitars and keyboards and created all the arrangements for every instrument, including orchestrations. The album was recorded in Finland and Brazil with the following musicians: Emppu Vuorinen (guitars; of Nightwish), Lauri Porra (bass; of Stratovarius) and Casey Grillo (drums; of Kamelot) and special guest appearances by: Mike Stone (guitars; of Queensrÿche), Edu Ardanuy (guitars; of Dr. Sin) and Sizão Machado (bass; of Tom Jobim and Chico Buarque at. al.) among others. The second album, Fragile Equality was released in 2008 but now as a full and proper band since his other project, Angra had ended.Besides Edu on vocals, he was joined by Angra mate Felipe Andreoli joined on bassguitar player Marcelo Barbosa from Khallice also joined the band before their first tour in August 2007. During the pre-production stage of the Fragile Equality, drummer Marcelo Moreira (ex-Burning in Hell), and the second guitarist Paulo Schroeber also joined. This second album's lyrical content discussed, "the balance between all the elements of the universe" based on a book that Edu was the co-writer for. That book "Fragile Equality - Equinox-Book 1" (done in manga style) was scheduled to be released sometime later, with a karaoke CD of the Fragile Equality album. Read All... ⏬ In the mean time, Angra returned to business in March 2009 while Almah announced the start of composing songs for the follow up album. In October 2011, Paulo Schroeber left the band due to health issues; playing his last show with the band in July. The band also played a few concerts with Sepultura later that year. In April 2012, the band played at the "Metal Open Air" festival in São Luís. This was the first concert with the new guitarist Gustavo Di Padua replacing Paulo Schroeber. The next month, Felipe Andreoli announced his departure to fully dedicate himself to other projects and his main band, Angra, on the flipside and the very same day, Edu Falaschi announced his departure from Angra on an open letter, to fully dedicate himself to Almah.
