The SkelsBiographyThe Skels (1995-present): a Punk band from Hoboken, New Jersey, USA. H ailing from Hoboken, New Jersey in 1995, The Skels were once described as "the band to see when you're planning on getting so drunk you don't remember your name." Indeed, The Skels formed as the house band for an Irish pub in Hoboken, New Jersey, but soon found their brand of rowdy and old school English punk rock catching on. Soon they were playing marathon, multi-set shows that almost always culminate in sweat-laden, body crushing sing-a-longs. Their music consists of Irish traditional songs, country standards, punk anthems and reggae classics in addition to their own albums of original works. Their musical subjects often revolve around pubs and the act of drinking copious amounts of alcohol. Along with their albums of Evidence Of A Struggle (1995), The Book Of Skels (1997), Stoney Road (1999), Any Port In A Storm (2003), Headed For The Knacker's Yard (2011), I'll Tell Me Ma (2011), The Skels have appeared on numerous compilations, on morning television, in an independent film, and have supported such acts as Shane MacGowan and the Popes, The Prodigals and Dropkick Murphys.
