Biography

Deathwitch (1995-2005): a Black Metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden.

S

tarting in 1995 Deathwitch was the side-project of Nicklas Rudolfsson (a.k.a. Terror), best known for his work with Runemagick, together with some girls (witches) who later became Dracena. The beand quickly set about recording two albums with Triumphant Devastation (1996) and Dawn of Armageddon (1997). The Ultimate Death (1998) and Monumental Multilations (1999) followed. At the time the act was undergoing line-up problems featuring many members like Doomentor (guitar; 1997-1999), Lady Death (bass; 1995), Reaper (a.k.a. Deathwitch; vocals; 1995-1996), Corpse (drums; 1997-1999),Af Necrohell (guitar; 1995) and Peter Palmdahl (a.k.a. Carnivore; bass; 1997-1999), by the latter album the line-up had settled to feature Terror (vocals/guitar), Peter 'Carnivore' Palmdahl (bass), Doomentor (guitar) and Corpse (drums).

The new album, Deathfuck Rituals (2002), with the assistance of Andy LaRoque on production and inspired by old school bands like early Bathory, Tiamat, Sodom and Sarcofago, featured powerful production featuring new member Dan Slaughter on drums. It was after the follow-up, Violence Blasphemy Sodomy (2004), that Rudolfsson inexplicably left the band in 2005; the rest of the members splintering back off to other projects.
