VendavalBiographyVendaval (2002-present): a Power Metal band from Gijón, Spain. B orn in November 2002, Vendaval was started from members of the band Northwind:: Txema Trinidad (voice), Miguel Fernández (bass) and Fernando Argüelles (drums) in addition with Luis Fernández (guitars), who was also creator of the former band, involved with the composing and recording its first album Viento del Norte. The idea was to augment the Epic power metal style with Spanish lyrics about epic literature of medieval fantasy about dragons and knights, subjects offered during the long career of Northwind, with a mixture of pure traditional heavy metal but without symphonic arrangements and lyrics. The result was the self-titled Vendaval (2003) on the 'Goi Music' label. The same membership would release Mi otra mitad (2005). Argüelles and Trinidad were the only remaining original members when the band expanded to include Santiago Fernández (guitars), Mario Herrero (keyboards), Javier González (bass) and Andrés Flórez "Andy" (guitars) for the Estigmas (2009) album, while Nathan Cifuentes took a guitar slot and Vindio Villarroel assumed bass for Arba'a (2012). For Por el tiempo the line-up had switched again leaving only Trinidad and Cifuentes with the membership now including Iván Batalla (bass), Alex Prados (drums) and Iván Peinado (keyboards).
