Navigating the Website

Selecting 'Custom Search' from the 'Filter' pull-down menu at the main search page (home page) or at the bottom of any artist biography will present the input form panel pictured below. The form is designed to allow you a more versatile method of searching where you wish to search beyond what the presets allow.

• The form boxes that can be filled out depends on which of the others you have filled. For example, it makes no sense to fill in the name field AND the ID field as they should match! Or, worst case, they conflict!
• On the right hand side are handy tool tips. Click on the blue "i" to reveal them as they will assist you on which form box combinations you can use. Boxes you cannot use will be shaded.
• Each box you fill in becomes a conditional 'AND'. In order for your search to succeed then all the conditions (input in the box combinations) must match - 'A AND B AND C' must be found for a successful match. You must fill at least one box.
• The (^) (carat) symbol for ID number input is not required.
• ^FIRST, ^LAST, & ^RANDOM can be used in the 'NAME' input box. 'ALL', '*', & '*.*' can also be used.
• 'Intelligent' AI assisted search is turned off in Custom Search - be sure to check your spelling. The search is case insensitive.
• It is important to note that this is a Beta program which means it is still being tested and you may encounter errors. New features and appearance changes may be frequent.
