About Diskery

Diskery is the old fashioned English word for "Record Company" and dates back to the very beginning of the music industry. It is a term now considered obsolete. When the name was registered back in 1999 we could not believe it had not been taken and decided it was descriptive enough for our purposes. The name was discovered back in 1996 by founder Derek McDonald when remembering watching the American prime-time television trivia game show Jeopardy; the answer: "This is the old fashioned word for Record Company" - question: "What is a Diskery?" (contestants must answer in the form of a question).
