Stone (1988-1993): a Thrash Metal band from Finland.
Finnish bands of note were not exactly in abundance in 1988, and it was to little notice that Stone's debut album, Stone (1988), came about with the membership of Jiri Jalkanen (guitar), Janne Joutsenniemi (bass/vocals), Roope Latvala (guitar), Pekka Kasari (drums). The album proved to be a competent Thrash like affair. No Anesthesia (1989), Colors (1991; featuring Markku Niiranen replacing Jalkanen), Emotional Playground (1992), and the live set Free! (1993) followed before breaking up soon after with Kasari going on to Amorphis, Niiranen joining Airdash, and Latvala went on to Sinergyand Warmen.
