Defcon 666 (1999-present): a Black Metal band from Saginaw, Michigan, USA.
Defense Readiness Condition (DEFCON) - A uniform system of progressive alert postures graduated to match situations of varying military severity.

666 - The numbers that represent evil as defined by mankind.

Indie band Defcon 666 started in 1999 by "Zamiel" (guitar), Lord Krucifer (drums) and Martin (bass/keyboards) all former members of Akhkharu and/or Amputist, but a sudden line-up shift would see Greg Fritzler (guitar) and Spewloard (vocals) ex-Apostle Of Perversion join the team. Their influences would range from Morbid Angel, Slayer, Death, Iron Maiden, Darkthrone, Marduk, Emperor, Enslaved and Impaled Nazarene to release the Total War in 2003 demo under a more or less basic Satanic black metal banner. It was followed by Cold War EP in 2005 under the revised line-up of: Payne (bass), Jack Masters (drums), Zamiel (guitars; ex-Project Apocalypse) andTyg (vocals). They have been silent since.
