Septimus (1995-present): a Progressive Metal band from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Calgary, Alberta band Septimus formed in 1995, and after one demo the original line-up recorded Virago Submission the following year. The founding members Pamela Bryan (lead vocals/rhythm guitar) and Jeff Cunningham (drums) parted with bassist Vova Poplavski and moved to Edmonton shortly after. In 1998 Murray Rutherford (bass) and Grant Tarapacki (lead guitar) joined, and together they launched a new demo that was received well locally. Time Trails in 1999, their debut full length, would follow up this demo. It was a more focused, polished and fuller sounding affair; even featuring a cover of the Joan Baez classic, Diamonds And Dust (a track also covered by Judas Priest).
