Edison Machine (1997-1999): a Rock band from Simcoe, Ontario, Canada.
Formed from the ruins of three former bands all hailing from Simcoe, Ontario. Together the members of Edison Machine (Adam Bowley (vocals/guitar), Jason Coates (bass/backing vocals), Brad Voegtle (guitar/backing vocals) and Jesse Ayers (drums)) blended the sounds of funk, rock, jazz and Blues to create a kind of popular 'alternative rock'. Strong percussion with smooth but complex bass lines gave Edison Machine its uniqueness. They played in pretty much all of the landmark gigs throughout Toronto, culminating in their self-titled premier release in August of 1998; the most noted track being the groovy beat I Before E. After the great beginning, however, they suddenly disappeared from the scope and have not been heard from again.
