Helms Alee (2007-present): a Sludge Metal band from Seattle, Washington, USA.
Under the sole membership of Ben Verellen (guitars/vocals), Dana James (bass/vocals) and Hoziji Matheson-Margullis (drums/vocals), Helm's Alee has been present for a number of years now but has remained relatively unknown in the heavy metal world since they are not exactly following a traditional heavy metal style even if they incorporate several traditional heavy metal influences. Their style is difficult to identify as it mixes heavy metal with grunge, sludge, and non-metal elements as experimental sounds as well. Nonetheless, they have been prolific with the releases of the Helms Alee EP (2007), Night Terror (2008), Weatherhead (2011), Sleepwalking Sailors (2014), Stillicide (2016), Noctiluca (2019) and Keep This Be The Way (2022).
