In 2001 Lifend's demo Entwined Emotions was completed under the line-up of Matteo (drums), Alberto (guitars/vocals), Roberto (bass), Damiano (guitars), Davide (keyboards) and Sara Moriconi (vocals).
The demo was followed by more venue and contest performances in the name of promotion, mostly around Milan. But at this point they started to get breaks and the release of Entwined Emotions received praise by both Italian and foreign press. The release wondered through dark atmospherics and deep romanticism to the rhythm of a frantic heartbeat. Featuring a radical change in their musical view saw them incorporate faster and more aggressive sounds with dynamics while remaining melodic and dramatic using death/gothic metal with different influences and shades owing to the addition of acoustic guitar parts, Swedish style riffing, keyboards, synthesizers and the use of three different vocals. With this new attitude, new opportunities come up with support positions.
With the release of the new EP Shattering: Reality, Andrea would assume lead guitar. The new material already received promotion from November 2002 to February 2003 through an Italian mini tour, and soon Lifend would play in other European countries. In June 2003, however, keyboardist Davide left the band due to work schedules.
After the compilation Collective Thoughts (2003), the full-length album Innerscars (2004) would follow. Fragments, another compilation, would follow later that same year.
Devihate (2008) would be their last before splitting in 2011.
