Everclear (1991-present): a Grunge band from Portland, Oregon, USA.
Boasting a name that sounds more like a window cleaning detergent then a rock band, Everclear formed in Portland, Oregon in 1991 by Art Alexakis (songwriter/vocalist/guitars), and for the bulk of the band's height of popularity, also featured Craig Montoya (bass) and Greg Eklund (drums). After the limited release of their independent debut album, World of Noise (1993), they found success with their first three albums with 'Capitol Records': Sparkle and Fade (1995), So Much for the Afterglow (1997) and Songs from an American Movie Vol. One: Learning How to Smile (2000); all certified platinum.

The following albums, Songs from an American Movie Vol. Two: Good Time for a Bad Attitude (2000) and Slow Motion Daydream (2003) did not do as well. Fellow founding members Montoya and Eklund left the band shortly after in 2003.

After a brief stint of solo performances, Alexakis reformed the act. The membership began to flux with each new album by featuring:Sam Hudson (bass/backing vocals; 2003-2009), Eric Bretl (drums; 2003-2004), Brett Snyder (drums; 2004-2008), Tommy Stewart (drums; 2008-2009), Sasha Smith (keyboards/backing vocals; 2009-2011), Johnny Hawthorn (lead and rhythm guitar/backing vocals; 2009 only), Jordon Plosky (drums; 2009-2010), Sean Winchester (drums; 2010-2015) and Josh Crawley (keyboards/backing vocals; 2003-2009 and then returned 2011-2016) to release Welcome to the Drama Club (2006), In a Different Light (2009), Return to Santa Monica (2011) and Invisible Stars (2012).

Although now morphing into more of a straight-up rock band, in 2012, Alexakis gave a nod to the act's grunge roots by starting Summerland Tour, a 1990s nostalgia tour, that performs every summer with Everclear and other 1990s alternative rock bands.

Black is the New Black arrived in 2015.

2018 would see Everclear perform at the Burlington Sound of Music festival in Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
