Ahrcana (2001-present): a Power Metal band from Milano, Italy.
Italian power metal outfit Ahrcana originally started life as Dark Elf with Gianluca Luci (guitar) and Andrea Carisi (guitar), Alex Castelnovo (guitar), Lele Coccato (bass) and Andrea Colombo (vocals). Only three months in, Andrea Carisi had to leave the band because of work, so Franz Montonati replaced him at the guitar at the same time they changed their name to Prophecy and released their first demo CD Gates To Realm in November 1999.

After another line-up and name change, they settled with a new name Ahrcana and the replacement of Andrea Colombo with Halley in 2000 with his high-pitched style. His addition offered them a whole new sound. Their neo-NWOBHM /power metal Metal style offered fantasy lyrics, sonorous impact, and melody. Since 1998, they engaged in numerous live and studio efforts but always complained of low production, until their 2001 demo titled simply Promo 2001. That demo resulted in a video for The Travel and saw them on the rise by giving them live performances with Sigma, Secret Sphere, Beholder and Drakkar. Their Stormmaster (2002) EP release came complete with a video introducing the band and continued with their Medieval motivated look and story lines. In March 2004 they would introduce new singer Paolo Carboni and a record deal with 'Steelborn/Northwind' records. In 2003 their first album Into The Prophecy arrived.
