Control Denied (1996-present): a Death Metal band from Florida, USA.
Although it had a false start earlier in the decade, Control Denied finally came into being in 1996 when Death founder Chuck Shuldiner had split that group to facilitate a change into a more melodic direction. He would later continue on with Death, taking several members with him, to leave Control Denied as his personal side-project later. In 1999 he managed to get some free time to complete The Fragile Art of Existence featuring himself on guitar with Tim Aymar (vocals), Shannon Hamm (guitar), Steve DiGiorgio (ex-Autopsy/ex-Iced Earth/ex-Sadus/ex-Testament; bass) and Richard Christy (ex-Iced Earth; drums). The album proved to be not too bad of an offer and a follow-up was in the works, tentatively titled When Machine And Man Collide, but Shuldiner's Death on December 14, 2001 put the session on hold. Although the album has yet to emerge, there are plans to complete it as Shuldiner had completed his parts prior to his Death but for all other purposes the act died with him, as did Death.
