asically a band like Hypocrisy except in the black metal genre, Abyss are actually the same members except playing different instruments featuring Peter Tägtgren playing drums, Lars Szöke and Mikael Hedlund playing guitars. Conveying old-school black metal, Abyss nonetheless came across as somewhat monotonous and featuring raspy vocals. This Hypocrisy side-project was one of the less successful with Pain proving a more successful venture. Nonetheless Abyss managed to release two albums on 'Nuclear Blast' titled The Other Side (1994) and Summon The Beast (1996) before presumably closing down.
