Pist-onBIOGRAPHYPist-on (1993-2001, 2015-present): a Industrial Metal band from Staten Island, New York, USA. I n 1995 Heny Font (vocals/guitar) and his female counterpart Val Ium (bass) got together to create a band whose name was surprisingly not the double entedre one would assume, indeed it had everything to do with golden showers and nothing in common to car engine parts! After recruiting Paul Poulos (guitar) and Danny Jam Kavadio (drums) they set about releasing their aptly titled Number One debut in 1996. To no one's surprise Josh Silver's (of Type O Negative) production managed to clean up their gritty thick guitar sound and slow-to-mid-paced rhythms enough to expose the expected lyrical content beneath, add to that the title and cover art, and any notion of car components was long gone history! Shortly after the album release, however, the rest of the band 'pissed off' and left Font and Ium to hire Jeff McManus (drums) and continue on as a trio. McManus, however, was soon after admitted to hospital for respiratory problems and was temporarily replaced by Johnny Kelly for the release of Dyke Night Tonight (1998). McManus was back in form along with Burton Gans (guitar/backing vocals) for the release of the follow-up album $ell Out (1999). After the band's second release, McManus left the band, returning briefly to record a 3-song independent Saves EP in the spring of 2001. Despite the optimism brought on by the new EP, the core duo of the band broke apart in late August 2001 when Ium decided to also leave.
