Slauter XstroyesBIOGRAPHYSlauter Xstroyes (1981-1989, 2009-2012, 2013-present): a Progressive Metal band from Joliet, Illinois, USA. T he band name is pronounced slaw-ter ex-stroy-ess, and they assumed this moniker in 1981 after previously being called White Witch and Naj as far back as 1979. An almost-forgotten band, Slauter Xstroyes originally released Winter Kill back in 1985, under the membership of John Stewart (R.I.P. 2018 of lung cancer; vocals), Paul Kratky(guitars), Brent Sullivan (bass) and Dave Bonow (R.I.P.; drums), with the album being re-released some fourteen years later by 'Monster Records'. Quite heavy for their time, the band took the traditional Judas Priest/Iron Maiden sound popular at that time, but added quite a few twists to the mix, especially a harder edge. In 1998 Slauter Xstroyes would return with Free the Beast after splitting back in 1989, then reforming in 2003 to split again in 2012, only to reform again in 2013 this would prove to be their last recording thus far. That second album was originally slated for a 1987 release, but was never officially completed, though 'Monster Records' compiled some demo tracks from the recording sessions, and released them under that name. ** This article is also available on our official app.
