Hollenthon

he band named themselves after a small municipality in Lower Austria, about 100 kilometers south of Vienna. However, none of the members hail from there nor was the band ever based there. Hollenthon is essentially a solo project for one Martin Shirenc, leader of the cult death metal band Pungent Stench. The name may double as a reference to the German word Höllenton, which translates to "hell sound". Formerly named Vuzem, Hollenthon would debut with Domus Mundi in 1999 under the membership of Elena Schirenc (vocals (female)/lyrics), Martin Schirenc (vocals/guitars/bass/keyboards/programming) and Mike Gröger (drums/percussion).

After the sophomore effort, With Vilest of Worms to Dwell (2001), Opus Magnum (2008) would see the next line-up change to feature Martin Molokh taking guitars, and Gregor Marboe (bass/vocals (backing)). The Tyrants and Wraiths EP, the act's fourth effort, followed in 2009.
