riginally forming in 1977 as Destroyer for a year, Hammerhead would reform in 1978 during the rise of the NWOBHM movement to eventually release Headonizm in 2005 after a compilation effort, and under the membership of Steve Archer (bass), Tony Steel (drums), Buzz Elliott (guitars/vocals/piano) and Brian Hodgson (vocals/guitars).

The Sin Eater (2015) followed to feature Steven Woods taking lead vocals. The next effort would follow in 2023 as Lords of the Sun. The band has split several times, the latest reformation in 2005.
