BrideBIOGRAPHYBride (1986-2013, 2017-present): a Christian Metal band from Louisville, Kentucky, USA. T he band was formed in by brothers Dale (vocals) and Troy Thompson (guitars) as a band called Matrix in 1981, where they released only a live album and a compilation of demos, to release four independent albums/demos using this name. Then in 1986 they landed a record deal with 'Pure Metal Records' and decided to change their name to Bride. Bride was part of the first wave of Christian metal bands that sprouted in the mid-eighties, alongside Barren Cross, Bloodgood, and others, and after almost two decades in the business are still going strong. Their style has changed often over the years, from traditional preacher metal on their early releases, to a more commercial hair metal phase during the early nineties, to an overt modern rapcore style by their 2001 Fist Full of Bees album. The act would debut in 1986 with Show No Mercy under the membership of the Thompson brothers along side Scott Hall (bass) and Stephan Rolland (drums). The follow-ups Live to Die (1988) and Silence Is Madness (1989) saw a line-up change to boast Frank Partipillo (bass) and Steve Osborne (R.I.P. 2011 of suicide; guitars). Two years later, Kinetic Faith (1991), Snakes in the Playground (1992) and Scarecrow Messiah (1994) followed with Rick Foley (R.I.P. 2021 of cancer; bass) and Jerry McBroom (drums).The bass position would be replaced again, this time by Steve Curtsinger for Drop (1995). The Jesus Experience then followed in 1997. The next line-up change saw Lawrence Bishop take bass on Oddities (1998). Fist Full of Bees (2001) and This Is It (2003) saw the drums taken by Mike Loy who would be gone by Skin for Skin (2006) with no replacement during the recording. The bass position would be then taken by Glenn Watts forTsar Bomba (2009). Read All... ⏬ For Incorruptible (2013) the band was reset to the Thompson brothers now recruiting Brad Holland (bass/vocals (backing)) and Jay Meese (drums); positions that would again change hands for the follow-up, Snake Eyes (2018), with Nenel Lucena (bass/vocals (backing)/guitars (additional)) and Alexandre Aposan (drums) and Nenel Lucena (bass/guitars (additional)) and Alexandre Aposan (drums) for Here Is Your God (2020) and Christmas (2021), but Philip Thompson took backing vocals and banjo for Bluegrass Gospel (2021).
