Chastain (1984-1992, 1994-1998, 2001-2005, 2013-present): a Power Metal band from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

he band was originally put together by 'Shrapnel Records'' owner Mike Varney for a David Chastain solo album; Chastain who would go on to also form CJSS.

Their debut album, Mystery of Illusion (1985), under the membership of Catherine "Leather" Leone (vocals), David T. Chastain (guitars), Mike Skimmerhorn (bass) and Fred Coury (drums), would launch their career. Ruler of the Wasteland (1986) followed featuring Ken Mary taking over drums. The 7th of Never (1987) and The Voice of the Cult (1988) followed.

For Those Who Dare (1990) saw a line-up change of David Harbour on bass and John Luke Hebert taking drums.

Sick Society (1995) came after a band hiatus and reduced the act to a three-piece of Chastain with Dennis Lesh on drums and keyboards, as well as Kate French on vocals (lead & backing)/bass/keyboards/guitars (rhythm). In Dementia (1997) followed with Kevin Kekes taking over bass.

In an Outrage (2004) saw half the band replaced with French and Chastain now teaming up with Dave Starr (bass (8 string)) and Larry Howe (drums/vocals (backing)). The next albums, Surrender to No One (2013) and We Bleed Metal (2015) brought Stian Kristoffersen in on drums.

The band never officially broke up, but it went on hold several times during the years. It first stopped activity in 1992 when Leone left, but was reactivated in 1994 when Chastain decided he would do an album with a male vocalist. He tried several singers and did a tour with himself on lead vocals before French finally joined.

In 1998, band became inactive again, then restarted activity in 2001 and stopped again in 2005. In 2013, original members Leone and Skimmerhorn rejoined the group for the release of We Bleed Metal 17 (2017).
