Orphaned LandBIOGRAPHYOrphaned Land (1992-1997, 2001-present): a Doom Metal band from Tel Aviv, Israel. I srael's Orphaned Land produces a unique style of death metal and doom metal mix with a dash of Middle Eastern Folk styles to debut with Sahara (1994) under the membership of Kobi Farhi (vocals), Yossi Sassi (guitars (lead)/oud), Matti Svatizky (guitars (rhythm)), Uri Zelcha (bass), Sami Bachar (drums) and Itzik Levi (keyboards/piano/samples), El Norra Alila (1996) and the The Calm Before the Flood (2002). Mabool - The Story of the Three Sons of Seven (2004) saw the first line-up change of Eden Rabin taking keyboards/piano/vocals (choirs)). Their first live set, the The Calm Before The Flood (The First Ever Acoustic Concert 18.08.2002) followed in 2004. The next studio effort, Ararat EP (2005) followed. It would be in the new decade that Orphaned Land returned with The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR (2010) featuring Chen Balbus (guitars (lead, rhythm)/glockenspiel/keyboards/programming) and Matan Shmuely took drums. Idan Amsalem (guitars/bouzouki) would be the new member for Unsung Prophets & Dead Messiahs (2018), The Forbidden Tracks EP (2019) and We Do Not Resist EP (2021). Footnote: The band got its name from a song called "Winds of War" by the Israeli singer Yehuda Poliker.
