OilBIOGRAPHY Oil (1997-2004): a Groove Metal band from Los Angeles, California, USA. W ith the membership of Blake Nelson (guitars), Matthew Joy (bass), Eric Wilkens (drums) and Ron Rinehart (vocals), Oil, not to be confused with the rock band of the same name that eventually became CKY, debuted with a self-titled EP in 1997. Refine followed in 2000 with Jason Vander Pal now on drums. After the final effort, the live set Choice Cuts Off the Chopping Block (2003), Rinehart suffered injuries. The band couldn't find a new vocalist and subsequently split up less than a year later.
