lthough listed as speed metal, that genre really didn't exist when Acid formed in the early 1980s pre-dating even the thrash metal scene by a couple of years, nonetheless, their re-classification is accurate as Acid's simplistic yet effective what we today call speed metal was a new for the time. Featuring the membership of Kate de Lombaert (vocals), Demon (Real Name: Donald Devers; guitars (lead)), Dizzy Lizzy (Real Name: Dirk Simoens; guitars (rhythm)), T-Bone (Real Name: Peter Decock; bass) and Anvill (Real Name: Geert Ricquier; drums), Acid would release Acid (1983), Maniac (1983), the Black Car EP (1984), Engine Beast (1985), Live in Belgium '84 (live; 2009), Hooked on Metal (compilation; 2016) and Blowing Your Ears Off (live; 2024) posthumously. Recently there has been a dispute as to the reformation of the band due to ownership of the name.
