God Dethroned (1991-1993, 1996-2012, 2014-present): a Death Metal band from Beilen, Netherlands.

utch death metal act God Dethroned were formed by vocalist and guitarist Henri Sattler in 1991, and with the fellow membership of Oscar Carre (guitars (lead)), Marco Arends (bass) and Ard de Weerd (drums) they would release The Christhunt (featuring, in its re-released form, a gruesome cover pic) on a small record label called 'Shark'. Dissatisfied with both the band and the label, Sattler scrapped the lot and went on to form a thrash metal band called Ministry Of Terror and recorded an album with that band before returning to resurrect God Dethroned with a new lineup. This would not be the only reformation of the band. The act plays a form of blacked death metal.

With almost every release by this prolific band a new line-up would accompany it featuring Sattler as the consistent member:
The Grand Grimoire (1997) and Bloody Blasphemy (1999) featured Jens van der Valk (guitars), Bert "Beef" Hoving (bass) and Roel Sanders (drums). For the 2001 follow up, Ravenous only van der Valk, Hoving and Sattler were featured, by now going under the names Jens, Beef, and The Serpent King respectively.

Into the Lungs of Hell (2003) added Ariën van Weesenbeek (drums).

Isaac Delahaye took second guitar, and Henk "Henke" Zinger took bass for The Lair of the White Worm (2004) and The Toxic Touch (2006).

The band was reduced again to a three-piece with just Sattler, Zinger and Sanders for Passiondale (Passchendaele) (2009).

For Under the Sign of the Iron Cross (2010), Michiel 'Mike' v.d. Plicht assumed drums, with Danny Tunker taking the second guitar.

The World Ablaze (2017) once again saw the bass and second guitar slots change hands in the form of Jeroen Pomper and Mike Ferguson respectively. The guitar slot would change yet again for the follow-up, Illuminati (2020), featuring Dave Meester, and the drums would change again with Frank Schilperoort taking them over for The Judas Paradox (2024) despite Sattler announcing back in 2011 that that would be the last year of the band.
