Brats

T

he membership of Brats was the first band to feature the guitar duo of Hank Shermann and Michael Denner, who would later become part of Mercyful Fate in the early 1980's. They started out in 1977 as a punk band, then broke up in 1981 to reform with a different lineup and a modified musical direction. They recorded one album in 1980, titled 1980 Brats under the line-up of Monroe (Real Name: Lars Nybo; drums/keyboards/piano), Hank Shermann (Real Name: René Krolmark; guitars), Yenz Leonhardt (Real Name: Jens Arnsted; bass/guitars (acoustic)/vocals) and Michael Denner (vocals: track 10/guitars) . Soon after, however, they promptly broke up when the mildly punk-rock/metallic album failed commercially with 'CBS' dropping them. A compilation was released posthumously in 2008. The band reformed in 2024 with Yenz, Monroe and Michael Denner.
