eleasing a debut demo (just called Demo) in 1997 and another in 1999, Stronghold's Prayers from a Yearning Heart would arrive in 2000 with Eirik Hellem Bø performing everything (vocals/guitars/bass/drums) a role he'd also played on the demos. Originally called Equilibrium, it is important to understand that although the band was formed by Erlend Trengereid and Eirik Hellem Bø as a cover act, but soon switched to original material. For various reasons, however, Trengereid didn't participate in the demos or first release despite being a member of the band, so Bø was the only member to appear on the first two releases. In the very early days he used a drum machine named "Roland".

By the time Cult of Remorse (2007) was released, the band swelled to include Cato Gulaker (drums), Erlend Trengereid (guitars), Eirik Hellem Bø (vocals/guitars) and Kristian (bass).
