nder the membership of Jóhann Ingi Sigurðsson (guitars), Unnar Sigurðsson (guitars), Gísli Rúnar Guðmundsson (bass), Ragnar Sverrisson (drums) and Gísli Sigmundsson (vocals), Beneath would attempt their first offering with the Promo 2009 demo in 2009. This effort secured the release of Hollow Empty Void (2010) EP.

Beneath's full album debut would come in the form of Enslaved by Fear (2012), followed by The Barren Throne (2014) with Benedikt Natanael Bjarnason now on vocals. It would not be until 2017 that another disc came in the form of Ephemeris sans Sverrisson. The drum position would not be filled until nearly a year later by Gabe Seeber. The bass would be taken over by Magnús Halldór Pálsson shortly after the recording was completed.
