BIOGRAPHY

Kublai Khan (1984-1988, 2017-present): a Thrash Metal band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.

amed after the founder of the Yuan dynasty of China and the fifth khagan-emperor of the Mongol Empire from 1260 to 1294, this band has had a remarkably stable membership right from their first demo, Rape, Pillage & Destroy (1985), featuring Mike Liska (bass), John Fedde (drums), Kevin Idso (guitars/vocals (track 1)) and Greg Handevidt (vocals/guitars). This carried right along into the second, Prepare for Annihilation (1986), and their studio debut proper, Annihilation (1987), after which point the band split up.

Kublai Khan would reform again in 2017 with Christopher Hensley not on guitars and Joe Conrad on bass.

In 2003, a 2-song demo titled 'Kronk Meets Kublai Khan' was recorded with the track listing of "You're Not Me" and "Nobody's Perfect" featuring the line-up of Kevin Idso (Kronk, ex-Kublai Khan; guitars/vocals/songwriting), Greg Handevidt (ex-Kublai Khan; guitars), as well as Kronk members Tony Olson (drums) and Jason Notebaart (bass).Also note that do not confuse this band with the metalcore band of the same name from Sherman, Texas.
