The Black

tarting in 1991 as The Black Flame after their 1992 debut demo The Black Blood, the name was shortened to The Black under the membership of The Black (Real Name: Markus Pesonen; drums/keyboards), Leviathan (Real Name: Marcus Pedersén; bass), Rietas (Real Name: Jon Andreas Nödtveidt; R.I.P. 2006; vocals) and Black Demon (guitars). Their debut proper was the The Priest of Satan (1994) sans Demon.

Alongside Death followed in 2008 after the band's reformation under the membership of Andreas Jonsson (bass), Markus Pesonen (drums; the only original member) and Daniel Forn Bragman (vocals/guitars/lyrics). Nödtveidt was not among the membership due to his committing suicide by gunshot in 2006. The band has not recorded since 2008 and their status is unknown; for purposes of Diskery we list them as disbanded.
