erforming a kind of Epic doom metal, ThunderStorm not to be confused with the melodic power metal band of the same name from Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, would launch themselves onto the scene with Sad Symphony (2000) under the membership of Fabio "Thunder" Bellan (guitars/vocals), Omar Roncalli (bass) and Massimo Tironi (drums).

The follow-up album, Witchunter Tales (2002) featured Sandro Mazzoleni on guitars and lacked Tironi. The line-up change reflected the band's break up two years before to form Bad Symphony where they recorded a single demo only to return in 2000 to release albums under their original name with the debut featuring the old line-up since it was recorded before the split.

For Faithless Soul (2004), the line-up changed again to feature Attilio Coldani on drums, and without Mazzoleni. This line-up remained for As We Die Alone (2007) and Nero Enigma before the band split for good in 2011.
