AlgebraBIOGRAPHYAlgebra (2008-present): a Thrash Metal band from Lausanne, Vaud, Switzerland. T hrash metal band Algebra was formed in 2008 by Mat Meillard (bass/vocals), Tony Sharp (drums), Ed Nicod (ex-Virtual Sin; guitars/vocals) and Phil Void (guitars/vocals), four experienced musicians who shared a passion for old-school and modern thrash metal. Under this line-up (although occasionally using pseudonyms) Algebra would release Procreation EP (2010), Polymorph (2012), the live set Live Morphin' (2013), Feed the Ego (2014), the Megadeth title influenced Rust in Peace... Polaris (single; 2017) and Pulse? (2019). Their debut full-length album, Feed The Ego (2014), showcased their technical skills and aggressive riffs, while their second album, Pulse? (2019), added more complexity and diversity to their sound. The band underwent a major line-up change after the release of Pulse?, with only guitarist Phil Void remaining from the original quartet. After he recruited Nick Abery on bass and vocals, together they continued the Algebra legacy with two more albums in the form of Chiroptera (2022) and Profound Guilt (2023). The latter album featured guest appearances from members of Vektor, Coroner and Destruction, among others. Algebra has also toured extensively in Europe, supporting acts like Vektor, Havok and Warbringer.
