Cattle DecapitationBIOGRAPHYCattle Decapitation (1996-present): a Death Metal band from San Diego, California, USA. W ith the 1999 debut Cattle Decapitation would arrive with Human Jerky under the membership of Travis Ryan (vocals/lyrics), Dave Astor (drums) and Gabe Serbian (R.I.P. 2022; guitars; who had replaced Scott Miller). They would follow it up with Homovore (2000). The third effort, To Serve Man (2002), Josh Elmore took guitarsTroy Oftedal took bass. Michael Laughlin took drums for Humanure (2004) and Karma.Bloody.Karma (2006), while David McGraw assumed drums for The Harvest Floor (2009) and Derek Engemann took bass and guitar for selected tracks on Monolith of Inhumanity (2012). After the Decade of Decapitation boxed set in 2014, The Anthropocene Extinction (2015) followed. For Death Atlas (2019) and Terrasite (2023), Olivier Pinard and Belisario Dimuzio stepped in on bass and guitars (rhythm) respectively. Cattle Decapitation has amassed a large fanbase among animal rights supporters due to their beliefs, album covers, and lyrics, focusing on prioritizing animals over human life. Originally consisting of all vegetarians, Elmore and Ryan are the only vegetarians left in the band today. The story of founding member Scott Miller's membership in Cattle Decapitation is a mystery. The act started as a Read All... ⏬ three-piece adding Ryan after their then-guitar player Scott Miller "vanished" without the other members knowing anything of his whereabouts nor leaving any forwarding contact information.
