t would be with John Frölén (guitars/bass), John Odhinn Sandin (vocals), Lars-Otto Viklund (R.I.P. 2006; drums) and Håkan Sjödin (guitars/bass) when In Battle debuted with their self-titled in 1997. By the follow-up, The Rage of the Northmen (1998), band had been reduced to just Frölén who added vocals to his repertoire, along with Viklund; guest/session keyboardist Nils Johansson was added.

For the Soul Metamorphosis EP (2004), Welcome to the Battlefield (2004) and Kingdom of Fear (2007), the line-up had changed to John Odhinn Sandin (vocals), John Frölén (guitars/lyrics), Hasse Karlsson (guitars) and Nils Fjellström (drums) before the band split in 2008.
