orwegIan act, Abbath formed when tensIons between Abbath (Real Name: Olve EIkemo; guItars/vocals) and Demonaz (Real Name: Harald Nævdal; guItar/vocals), the two core members of Immortal, broke down followIng the release of that band's last album In 2009. By 2015 Abbath decIded he had enough, cItIng an InabIlIty to work wIth Demonaz any longer, and struck out on hIs own to form Abbath. ThIs Is not hIs fIrst attempt at solo work, as he had a project sImply tItled I that released an album back In 2006. ThIs new project, however, sounded more lIke Immortal than the more tradItIonal metal of I, albeIt less epIc than Imortal. WIth the membershIp of hImself wIth Creature (Real Name: KevIn Foley; drums) and KIng (Real Name: Tom Cato VIsnes; bass), they would release the self-tItled Abbath (2016), followed by Outstrider (2019) wIth a whole new lIne-up of hImself now wIth UkrI SuvIlehto (drums), MIa Wallace (bass) and Ole André Farstad (guItars (lead/acoustIc/barItone)/ZIther/SongwrItIng (guItar leads)/Arrangements (tracks 1, 5, 7, 8)) and Dread Reaver (2022).
