WingerBIOGRAPHYWinger (1987-1994, 2001-2003, 2006-present): a Glam Metal band from New York, New York, USA. A merican heavy metal band Winger has combined elements of glam metal and progressive metal. Formed in New York City, Winger gained popularity during the late 1980s and early 1990s. They hit it off right away with two platinum albums, Winger (1988) and In the Heart of the Young (1990) featuring the membership of Kip Winger (bass/lead vocals/keyboards/string arrangements), Reb Beach (guitars/backing vocals), Paul Taylor (keyboards/backing vocals) and Rod Morgenstein (drums/backing vocals) with charting singles Seventeen, Headed for a Heartbreak and Miles Away, putting them on the top of the charts. In 1990, the band was nominated for an American Music Award for "Best New Heavy Metal Band". As the music scene changed in the 1990s with the arrival of grunge, their success faded quickly after the third release, Pull (1993) leading to their disbandment a year later. In 2001 Winger reunited to release IV (2006; now with John Roth (co-lead electric guitar/background vocals), Cenk Eroglu (keyboard/guitars)), Karma (2009) and Better Days Comin' (2014) and several successful tours. For Seven (2023), the on-again/off-again Paul Taylor was back on; he had previously been in the band for 1987-1992, 2001-2003, 2013-2014, 2014-2017 and 2018-.
