Dopethrone

ctive since 2008, Dopethrone is known for their abrasive mix of sludge, stoner and doom metal styles with lyrics based in self-destruction, murder, cannabis and sleazy drug abuse. The band's name was derived from a spoof of Darkthrone and not from the Electric Wizard album of the same name. Under the membership of Vyk (Real Name: Victor Daigle; bass), Vincent Houde (guitars/vocals) and Thomas Polychuck (drums) Dopethrone would release Demonsmoke (2009) before Big Borman (Real Name: Carl Borman) took over on drums to release Dark Foil (2011), III (2012) and Hochelaga (2015). For Transcanadian Anger (2018) the act had been reduced to a duo with only Houde and Vyk.
