Ironhorse

anadian rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, Ironhorse formed by Randy Bachman (ex-The Guess Who/ex-Bachman-Turner Overdrive; guitar/vocals), along with Tom Sparks (vocals/guitars), Chris Leighton (drums) and Ron Foos (bass).

The supergroup of sorts had a minor US hit single in April 1979 with Sweet Lui-Louise, which rose to 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In Canada, the song peaked slightly higher at 26 and 60 in the UK Singles Chart. Ironhorse released two albums on the 'Scotti Brothers' label with Ironhorse (1979) and Everything is Grey (1980). The second release featured Frank Ludwig (ex-Trooper) replacing Sparks. One of the spin-off singles, What's Your Hurry Darlin', peaked at 84 in Canada; 89 in May 1980 in the USA.

Foos left to rejoin Paul Revere and the Raiders. In 1980, Ironhorse disbanded, with members forming Union with former Bachman-Turner Overdrive (B.T.O.) band-mate Fred Turner. Union would release only a single album, On Strike on the CBS subsidiary 'Portrait Records'. In May, 2013, Randy Bachman secured the rights to the Ironhorse albums.
