The DiviningBIOGRAPHYThe Divining (2003-2008): a Metalcore band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. F ormed in early 2003, The Divining brought to the table a traditional style of European influenced thrash metal influenced by melodic death metal that remains uncorrupted by the hands of time, Showcasing influences by some of the classics, ranging from At the Gates to Pantera. In December 2004, and after several demo attempts, The Divining entered the studio to record their debut full-length, Reprisal, for Philadelphia-based indie label, 'Dressed to Kill Records'. After a late-June 2005 release of the album, the band set off to promote Reprisal with a month-long, coast-to-coast, tour of the US along with a two-week tour of the east coast in January 2006. In May 2006, original bassist Mike "Muf f" Jenkins decided to leave the band in order to pursue a life and career outside of music. The Divining were quickly joined by Erik Pendergraft on bass and have since completed tours with Lokyata and One Dead Three Wounded. The Divining have shared the stage with bands such as Bleeding Through, Caliban, Sworn Enemy, Full Blown Chaos, Himsa, Haste the Day, Scars of Tomorrow, 3 Inches of Blood, Ion Dissonance, Death by Stereo, The Banner, Arsis, Read All... ⏬ Ligeia, August Burns Red, Blacklisted, Ed Gein, Becoming the Archetype, The Minor Times, Cannae, and All Else Failed, as well as many others featuring the line-up of Domenic Rocco (vocals) , Jordan Berk (guitar), Alexander Cheskis (guitar), Jeff Barow (drums) and Erik Pendergraft (bass).
