Dies IraeBIOGRAPHYDies Irae (1995-2008): a Black Metal band from Bucharest, Romania. B orn in November 1995, Dies Irae was a Bucharest heavy metal group under the membership of Stroe Ioachim (bass), Victor Stoica (drums), Sorin Stoian (guitars), Iordache Radu (vocals) and Marian Stoenic? (guitars) who recorded the first demo (containing 2 songs) in 1996 titled just Demo and boldly went everywhere to reach their goals - on national and local radio and on national television, despite being presented as the new hope for the heavy metal movement in 1990s Romania. Two more demos, Dies Irae Live and Dies Irae followed later that same year. Two years of intense live activity followed. Dies Irae was already considered a very powerful live band and they took advantage of this to finally release their debut in the form of Gargoyles (1998) with Marian Stoenic? added on second guitar.The year 2000 saw the release of the first Dies Irae video, Warganism (broadcasted on on all the major Romanian TV stations), but also it saw a band torn apart, as drummer Victor Stoica went to the United States to complete his studies, leaving Radu Lordache (vocals), Loachim Stroe (bass/vocals), Sorin Stoian (guitar), and Marian Stoenica (guitar) to fend for themselves in a side project called Phobia in 2001; an act that is still in operation today. Read All... ⏬ In 2005, Dies Irae celebrated a decade of heavy metal and strong friendship inside the band. Victor Stoica returned to Romania and in December of that year they recorded a new single, Shadow Boxing, to be released in the first months of 2006, along with a new video.
