Cains AlibiBIOGRAPHYCains Alibi (1997-present): a Power Metal band from Minnesota, USA. T he story of Cains Alabi started when co-founders Paul Miller and Neal Anthony met at a sales job. Anthony had never had been in a band but was nonetheless a musician. Miller, on the other hand, had previously been in the music business but left to pursue his "real job" of sales. Miller was struck by Neil's enthusiasm of music and the two became friends and eventually became partners after quitting their sales job to build a record studio together in Miller's basement. After minor success with writing jingles and producing minor projects, they decided to write, record and produce a rock CD. The problem was, there was no band to help promote the project further, so they recruited long time friend Mark Christenson on bass and, after a while, Phil Galloway was appointed to fill the drum roll. In January of 1998 the self-titled debut CD featuring Miller and Anthony was released but after touring in their state of Minnesota work and family obligations forced the members to split shortly after. Miller and Christinson would return, however, to reform the act to ask Derrick Dotterweich, a sound tech. that had previously worked with them, to apply for the role of drummer after they heard he knew something much about the position, and he did and won the job. Krister Pihil, a Swedish immigrant from a suburb of Gothenburg who had been studying music theory at Music Tech. in Minneapolis would also join to complete the line-up.
