Rossington Collins BandBIOGRAPHYRossington Collins Band (1979-1982): a Hard Rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, USA. T he Rossington Collins Band was an American southern rock band founded in 1979 by Gary Rossington and Allen Collins (guitar both and both ex-Lynyrd Skynyrd) following the 1977 plane crash which killed three members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, of which both had been members. The band included two other surviving members of Lynyrd Skynyrd in the form of Billy Powell (keyboards) and Leon Wilkeson (bass). The band wanted to develop their own sound lest they be regarded as a reformed Lynyrd Skynyrd and so hired female lead vocalist, Dale Krantz, who later married Rossington. The band released two albums in the form of Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere (1980) and This Is the Way (1981) with the added membership of Barry Lee Harwood (guitar/vocals) and Derek Hess (drums) before disbanding in 1982.
