Heavy Metal Kids (1973-1985, 2002-present): a Hard Rock band from London, UK.

ary Holdon (vocals), Mickey Waller (guitar), Ron Thomas (bass) and Keith Boyce (drums) came together to form Heavy Metal Kids, a name that ended off suiting them better than the previously suggested, Free. Playing a raggedy style of hard rock, they launched their eponymous debut on 'Atlantic' in 1974 to gain a cult following, mostly in the London area. Adding keyboardist Denny Peyronel and Cosmo on guitars prior to the release of the follow-up Anvil Circus saw them close 1975 off of their label. After replacing Peyronel with John Sinclair, and Waller with Barry Paul they would try one more attempt with 1976's Kitsch on the 'Rak' label only in England.

John Sinclair left to join Uriah Heep and was replaced by Jay Williams.

Keith Boyce left and was replaced by Ricky Squires, previously of the dEAd ENd KIdS.

Failing to win over the crowd the band was put into hiatus in 1977, Holton going on to a solo career then into TV acting before dying of a drug overdose in 1985 effectively ending the band.

Hit The Right Button (2003) featuring Peyronel now on lead vocals and keyboards, along with Thomas, Boyce, Marco Barusso (guitars/vocals) and Marco Guarnerio (guitars and vocals) would announce the band's return. The new debut would receive critical success.

The follow-up album would not receive such acclaim. It might have it it were released. In October 2008, and now featuring Matteo Salvadori replacing Guarnerio, the Heavy Metal Kids went into Massive Arts Studio in Milan, where initial recordings were made. Nearly two years would pass trying to finish the album, but it was never completed. A set of compilations would follow over next few years instead.

On 8 August 2010, Peyronel left, the actor John Altman was unveiled as the new singer; Altman was a friend of the original frontman, Holton. But by 2011 he would be gone, with L.A. Guns frontman Phil Lewis joining the band for a few gigs. The band remained as a four-piece with Justin McConville eventually taking on lead vocal duties. In 2012 Thomas left and was replaced by Ronnie Garrity, until 2015 when PJ Phillips was recruited for bass and vocal duties.
