HexxBIOGRAPHYHexx (1983-1995, 2013-present): a Thrash Metal band from San Francisco, California, USA. O riginally forming in 1978 as American Standard, they would reform between the years of 1978-1983 as Paradox where they released only a single demo before restarting in a more standard guitar oriented heavy metal style but later adopting power metal and thrash metal elements, Hexx debuted in 1984 with their No Escape featuring the membership of Manzo (vocals), Dan Watson (guitar), Bill Peterson (R.I.P. 2019; bass) and Dave Schmidt (drums). NWOBHM rawness was then thrown into the mix, and by the time the follow-up album, Under the Spell, arrived in 1986 a more Thrash sound was evident in their mix. The new album also saw the first line-up change with Dan Bryant and Clint Bower replacing Manzo. John Shafer replaced Schmidt on their third effort, Quest for Sanity EP, in 1988 and Watery Graves EP in 1989. By 1991's Morbid Reality, Hexx had adopted a more death metal sound. Read All... ⏬ After the split release, Tyrants of Steel Vol.1 in 2016 with Ruthless, Hexx would return with Wrath of the Reaper (2017), an album that saw Watson and Shafer with the all-new line-up of Mike Horn (bass), Bobbie Wright (guitars) and Eddy Vega (vocals) due to a split up in 1995 and subsequent reformation in 2013. The follow-up, Entangled in Sin (2020) saw Don Wood take bass who had replaced Mike Horn, who in turn had replaced Bill Peterson due to his departure in 2014. Bill Peterson would die in 2019.
