Kryst the ConquerorBIOGRAPHYKryst the Conqueror (1987-1995): a Christian Metal band from Lodi, New Jersey, USA. T he debut EP from Kryst The Conqueror's received little notice in 1990, it was a mysterious album that no one seemed to know much about. Formed back in 1987 by brothers and ex-The Misfits men bassist Jerry Only (a.k.a. Mo the Great; Real Name: Gerald Caiafa Jr.) and guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein (Real Name: Paul Caiafa), they went about to hire Yngwie J. Malmsteen vocalist Jeff Scott Soto to sing for them as a guest, but due to his contractual obligations with Malmsteen he was billed as Kryst The Conqueror himself, along with Dave "The Snake" Sabo, also a guest on one track. Permanent members The Murp, who was later replaced by Dr. Chud (Real Name: David Calabrese), would take the drum stool. An entire album, Deliver Us From Evil, was then recorded sometime around 1988 featuring music that was neither punky nor reminiscent of Malmsteen's work, but for some reason the album was not released. Instead only five of the tracks emerged as the Deliver Us From Evil EP (1989). Though the band of punk-horror enthusiasts never played live and in essence were a band in name only, Kryst The Conqueror survived until the mid-nineties, when the two founding brothers went back to the reformed Misfits.
