ScumBIOGRAPHYScum (2002-present): a Death Metal band from International. B oasting a membership form Norway and the USA, this version of Scum would be a supergroup of sorts by featuring Samoth (Real Name: Tomas Thormodsæter Haugen; yes of-Emperor and Zyklon fame; guitars/songwriting), Faust (Real Name: Bård Guldvik Eithun; drums), Happy Tom (Real Name: Thomas Seltzer; bass), Cosmocrator (Real Name: André Søgnen; guitars/songwriting) and Casey Chaos (R.I.P. Dec 20th, 2024 of heart attack; Real Name: Karim George Chmielinski; vocals) to release Gospels for the Sick in 2005. The idea behind the act was to create black metal-influenced punk rock... or as they see it, "black metal with a real punk rock attitude.". All of the members of this side project are from Norway except Casey Chaos, who was American. Faust has an interesting past. On 21 August 1992, while he was visiting family in Lillehammer, he stabbed Magne Andreassen to death. According to Eithun, while walking home from a pub through the Olympic park, a well-known gay cruising spot, Andreassen drunkenly approached him and solicited him for sex. Eithun agreed to go with him to the nearby woods and stabbed Andreassen 37 times. He kicked him in the head repeatedly as he lay on the ground. Police initially had no suspects, and Eithun remained free for about a year. However, he told felolow black metal musicians and friends, Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth, Varg Vikernes, and a few others what he had done. After Vikernes' murder of Aarseth in August 1993, Eithun was arrested and confessed to killing Andreassen. In 1994, he was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment, but was released due to good behavior in 2003 after serving nine years and four months. In 2003, it was announced that Faust was going to be the drummer for Dissection at their reunion in 2004, but at the end of that same year Faust decided to leave the band, due to the ideology of the misanthropic Luciferian order that Jon Nödtveidt adopted at that time, which was not compatible with Faust. Faust/Eithun studied at the University of Oslo. Faust/Eithun also used to run the fanzine Orcustus. Despite the black metal CVs of the album's members the resulting album sounds nothing like their work with their respective bands. It is it's own unique form of black metal.
