UNITBIOGRAPHYUNIT (1991-present): a Progressive Metal band from Linkoping, Sweden. T he band UNIT started under the moniker UNIT-3 by drummer Christian Ljungberg and guitarist Peter Jonasson and would later be joined by Gudjon Jonasson (vocals) from Iceland. As a group, their music would evolve in a symphonic style with influences from Rush and Yes among others. After several years of gigging and making demos, Gudjon decided to leave to be quickly replaced by singer/guitarist Mathias Johansson. Bass player Mattias Kindefors would later also join. 1994 would see them record their first mini-CD; the 3 track EP was self financed and was planned to be re-published as bonus tracks on future recordings. They wouldn't wait long for 'Loud N' Proud Records' would release their first full length, Dreamdance, in November 1998. Dreamdance was recorded between October 1996 and March 1997 under the working name Movements.
