Sad IronBIOGRAPHYSad Iron (1979-1986, 2012-present): a Thrash Metal band from Hoorn, Netherlands. N ot much to say about this band and their [originally] one off recording in 1983 dubbed Total Damnation, featuring Herke van de Poel (vocals), Bernard Rive (guitar), Leo Ockeloen (bass) and Jacques V. Oevelen (drums). Their album was a disappointing wash of pseudo-Thrash covered with less imagination and poor production. The album proved to be forgettable and dated the minute it was released. During the time it was created that was a forgivable crime, but not to this degree, for after its release they disappeared under the rock from whence they came without a trace. They had planned to repeat the feat with The Antichrist that was scheduled to be released in 1985 but the band had split by then and it was scrapped. Scrapped maybe, but The Antichrist finally took the band out of one-off status in 2016 when it was released non-posthumously, for the band has apparently attempted a reformation since 2012 under the revised membership of Bernard Rive (guitars),Charles Heijnen (bass), Robert Bakker (drums) and Marc van den Bos (guitars/vocals). FYI: A live recording from 1982 has also surfaced titled Holland Heavy Vol.1 Live In Brouwershoeck, a split recording with no 'Vol.2'.
